Welcome to the IBDoF Wikka Web!

The plan with this software - is to make it possible for us to build character lists and world maps for those places which fascinate us and haunt our dreams.

These have been described by some as: "World As Myth". The idea has been presented by a few different people, but the person who introduced it to me was one of the Grand Masters of SciFi, Robert Heinlein. I read the book "The Number of the Beast" and the concept of "Pantheistic Multi-person Solipsism" really struck a harmonic chord with me. The idea that all fiction somewhere is real, that there is in fact a "Yellow Brick Road", a Scarecrow, a Cowardly Lion & Glenda the Good Witch. That there are "Strangers in Black Hats". There is a real Barsoom, Alice & the Rabbit, and most of all there is The Gay Deceiver, Mycroft/ Michelle Holmes, Athena and several other Silicon People.

This would mean that truly somewhere Luke Skywalker battles Darth Vader and the Emperor, that somewhere else Oscar Gordon is chasing Dragons and fair maidens. That somewhere an Island exists that contains pre-historic dinosaurs. That somewhere else there is an entrance into the most gigantic cavern within the earth, one where dinosaurs do still roam, that somewhere not far away from this is a jungle within the heart of Africa that is home to a herd of Great Apes which raised an English Lord, Greystoke by name.

While I cannot prove the existance of these "Other Worlds" I can feel a friendship for many of their inhabitants. I can & do desire others to come to know them as well. While making it easier to keep it all "straight in my head" myself. Hence is born the IBDoFWiki. I can only hope that others will find it both of interest and be prepared to make it better!

If you want write access - contact Kiltannen on the IBDoF forum. Only people with permissions can edit - anyone can read [even non registered users]... It is my intention to be fairly open about who can edit in here in the spirit of how wiki is run most places - but that everyone must request access and not be given it by default. The reason for this is more that we truly want to accomplish something fairly complex here, and want to work with like minded people...

If you have not yet used a wiki - One of the first things you will need to become familiar with is the concept of a WikiWord.
